We work with local primary school teachers and children aged 5 to7 years old in Tanzania and Nepal. Through inservice, we model and demonstrate good maths teaching methods and strategies to teachers. Our aim is to provide training in the use of manipulatives in maths in order to strengthen teacher knowledge, understanding and teaching of the base ten number system and place value concepts.

Volunteers travel to a village called Bweyale in Uganda to work in two schools. Volunteers teach, run activities and play games and sport to help remind the children, many of whom have been child soldiers, what it is like to be a child again. These schools also have a significant lack of resources so B-BAP also helps to provide much needed resources for these schools.
